It's been a long day, It's now time to close, Put the shutters down, Walk wearily home.
Climb up the stairs, And fall into
dreaming, That toys often play, In the magical night.
Midnight, and there's no-one about, You can hear a pin drop, Or the scurry of a mouse. Toyshop, and the toys come alive, As the
golliwogs dance, In the Doll's house tonight.
And the ballerina Dances For the soldier.
And the little rag doll Waltzes With the puppet.
The morning star rise, Begins a new
day. Sleepily the toys Must now cease their play.
Climb onto shelves, And fall into dreaming, All as it was, Until tonight.
Midnight, and there's no-one about, You can hear a pin
drop, Or the scurry of a mouse. Toyshop, and the toys come alive, As the golliwogs dance, In the Doll's house tonight.
And the ballerina Dances For the soldier.
And the little rag
doll Waltzes With the puppet.
Go to sleep my little darlings, Go to sleep until the end of the day, Go to sleep my little darlings, Go to sleep until you reach the end of the day.
